@Williams Family Newsletter - Spring 2016

What’s with FERPA?

After all those years in parent-teacher conferences, it’s a brand-new experience to find out that our college students now decide whether or not to share their confidential information with us. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act  of 1974 (FERPA) prevents colleges from sharing grades and transcripts, course schedules, disciplinary records, and other personal information with anyone—even their families—without students’ written consent. While this takes some getting used to, it also turns out to be an essential part of our students’ transition to adulthood. Here’s how it works at Williams.

Learn more ways to partner with us in your student’s Williams experience, and please email us with any questions, comments, or suggestions you might have.

We’re looking for recipes of all kinds and from all cultures, so submit yoursbefore April 4. If your dish is selected, we’ll share the good news with you!
